What is KlikSpy?

KlikSpy.com is an easy-to-use tool to "spy" on your website users. It simply tracks the behaviors of your visitors without them knowing they are being observed.

Is that unethical?

Absolutely not. The reason you are doing this is to see what your visitors are doing so you can help them by making your website more user-friendly.

How does it work?

There is just a simple piece of code that you copy & paste from the My Account section to any page on your website that you want to keep an eye. As soon as you put the code live on your site, the tracking begins.

Will it slow my website down?

If at all, it has an extremely small effect on page's download time. Most customers say that there is no difference. Also most visitors only have to download the small piece of code once during their entire visit.

Will I need any special hardware or software to store or review clicks?

Nope. One of the major benefits of how KlikSpy works is that it is completely web-based on both sides! So the only hardware you need is a computer with internet access and a web browser.

Will KlikSpy capture click for any web browser?

Most likely. We have tested the KlikSpy engine on all major browsers successfully. But as time goes on, and web browsers change, we will continue to test and develop to ensure the highest success rate.

How do I pay for my KlikSpy service?

KlikSpy is a subscription plan that is typically billed to a credit or debit card. If you need to setup an invoicing plan, just let us know: Sales Department.

Will KlikSpy work on my secured intranet site?

Probably not. For it to store information, KlikSpy needs to be able to access the internet. However, if this is vital, we may be able to setup a custom internal installation. For more information, contact our Sales Department.

Why do no clicks appear on the Flash objects on my site?

It is actually a problem with how browsers handle Flash players and other objects. By default, browsers place embedded plug-in content, such as a Flash movie or Java applet, on the topmost layer. In older browsers, attempts to place a DHTML layer on top of a Flash layer would fail. Newer browsers add the ability to layer Flash content with DHTML content and in some cases the ability to use transparent backgrounds in the Flash content (see below).

Why are people clicking on things that aren't links?

That's the best part of KlikSpy. You get to see the psychology of visitors. You get to understand them better.

People click on logos. People click on images. People click on bolded text.

You can (and should) use this information to rearrange your pages to make them more user friendly and to carefully guide your visitors to where you want them to go.

Why don't the clicks always line up with my webpage?

There could be a number of reasons.

The main one is that websites get rendered differently by different browsers and while we do everything in our power to evaluate those things when we render the report, sometimes it is a little off.

Also some users have their text size set to a larger or smaller size, this also can affect how the site gets rendered.

Most customers don't find this to much of an issue.
